Lively festivals, diverse architecture, vibrant nightlife, and a cosmopolitan vibe. Berlin, Germany is known for its high quality of living and the vivacity of its metropolis. While we were there, we wanted to discover the city’s Christmas markets and capped off our trip with a stay at Ritz-Carlton Berlin.

Ritz-Carlton is a five-star luxury hotel located at Potsdamer Platz in the city center. It sits in an idyllic location with everything that Berlin has to offer right in your fingertips. Its proximity to the train station also gives visitors easy accessibility to other destinations. Although very central, next to public transport and a mall, its entrance is not on a main street. It gives you a more discreet welcome. With its central location you can walk up to several sightseeing spots and others are 3 to 5 metro stops away or 10 minutes by taxi.

You get to indulge in upscale shopping sprees with the multiple shopping malls within the vicinity. One particular tourist destination, the Jews Memorial Park, is also just around the corner.

Accented by sandstone elements and a brown and gold palette, Ritz-Carlton is the epitome of class and luxury. Featuring 19 floors, it houses 303 guest rooms and a wide range of amenities that residents can delight in. They recently renovated in 2018 and its old world vibe is now given a more modern touch making it one of the top picks for a Berlin visit.

Of course, when entering a hotel, it’s nice to be greeted by friendly faces. Ritz-Carlton Berlin has such hospitable staff and amazing service and their concierge service is definitely topnotch! One of the key feature of this hotel is the presence of not just one but four Les Clefs d’Or members. And if that isn’t impressing enough. The Chief Concierge is no other than the President of Les Clefs d’Or Germany himself. You are guaranteed to have the best recommendations and service you can get.

We stayed at the Carlton Club Suite, which has a complimentary access to the Club Lounge. A spacious interior that measures 106 square meters and a king-sized bed fit for two adults greet us upon walking into our suite. The bathroom and its heated floor is a haven for marble lovers and who wouldn’t love a view of the city?

We were also entitled to a breakfast at the Club Lounge. Something I’d like to comment on, however, is their breakfast menu. It would’ve been best if they had more options to choose from. Specifically, maybe even a platter suited for vegetarians? They also don’t offer a turn-down service for the suite unless requested.

One feature that definitely caught our attention is the hotel’s Fragrances bar. that seems like an odd combination — scent and alcohol? Long story short, you can savor and indulge in drinks that were inspired by a famous perfume of different members of the staff! This is such a unique concept and it is definitely worth coming back for!

Other noteworthy features is the hotel’s modern take on afternoon tea at The Lounge, a variety of drinks and an energetic yet cozy atmosphere at The Curtain Club and amenities such as the Finnish sauna, complimentary wifi throughout the hotel and the wellness area.
