The Kuala Lumpur City Centre is certainly the lifestyle hub and destination to visit whenever you’re in Asia. Other than the towering skyscrapers, shopping malls, and luxurious hotels, it’s also filled with various restaurants that makes your dining experience in Kuala Lumpur even more special.
Recently, we got the opportunity to try Peruvian and Japanese Fusion dishes in Nobu Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur.
The Location
Nobu Restaurant is just a few steps away from Kuala Lumpur’s City Centre and is situated inside the Menara 3 Petronas, a 58-storey commercial building filled with shopping and dining spots. Pretty sweet location if you ask us.
The highlight of being inside this tower is that Nobu Restaurant is on the 56th floor. This means your dining experience is complemented by a picturesque view of one of Kuala Lumpur’s best views.
The Menu
Along with the great location, Nobu Restaurant has various menu options and an extensive list of dishes for each one. They serve lunch on weekdays, dinner for the whole week, and high tea on the weekends. With each menu, they have something for everybody.
We went and dined there during dinner time and was greeted with a variety of Japanese and Peruvian food.
The Taste
The moment everyone’s waiting for… Are Nobu’s dishes worth trying? Kuala Lumpur is known for its great variety of food but not their fine dining options. Prices are generally low which makes it tricky for fine dining restaurants to offer something that competes. If you are used to Nobu restaurants this will feel like a modest version of the others. It does not take away that the offer is great and offers great value for money on an international level. The ingredients are of top quality and the Japanese influence is noticeable.
However, we could see people get disappointed when their standards are set to what you might expect in Japanese fine dining restaurants you would find in Japan, West Europe or the US. An unfair comparison if you ask us. If you are aware of the food standards in Kuala Lumpur you will genuinely be impressed.
Perfect For…
We personally think that the cuisine and ambiance of Nobu Restaurant is perfect for every diner and every event. However, we think it’s the best for those who are in Kuala Lumpur for the first time as the view from the 56th floor is a destination in itself.
