Think of Portugal and you’ll most likely come across the Mediterranean influences of its cuisine and its abundance in seafood dishes. Of course, this means that a high class dining experience is something that you wouldn’t want to miss when you’re in Portugal.

Passion meets international modern cuisine in this classic restaurant situated in a tranquil nook in Vilamoura, Portugal. Willies Restaurant stays true to its promise of giving a first-rate dining experience. It takes pride in its flavorful explosion of the resident chef’s take on modern cuisine with international inspirations.
Vegetarians also won’t feel the need to adjust to a meat-dominated menu. Willies gave us a wide range of vegetarian options such as the Little Bouillabaisse of Seafood with Saffron Vegetables. This means that I (Stephanie) got to eat to my heart’s delight!
Something that we’ve noticed is that they don’t have a set menu and only offered a la carte meals. Maybe we just overlooked it.
Either way, their food is a feast to both the eyes and the tummy. They give special attention to detail, presentation and taste which all adds up to one gastronomical delight. It is truly something that I wouldn’t hesitate coming back to for more.
Overall, good plating, flavorful dishes, and generous portions all for a reasonable price. It’s no wonder that they are a Michelin Star holder.
As for the vibe of the place, Willies Restaurant have a cozy atmosphere. It has a high-class ambiance with its elegant decor and ambient lighting without the stuffy feeling of pretentiousness. It still gives you a sense of dining right in the comforts of your own home.
The staff are also funny and warm. We’re guessing that this may be one of the reasons why it feels like we were right at home! Rest assured that Willies’ friendly waiters also offer great service and that makes the restaurant all the more deserving of its Michelin Star.
Last but definitely not the least, the restaurant’s chef is someone who’s definitely worth noting during our time there. All these dishes would not have been served if not for the expertise of Chef Willie Wurger.
A perfectionist and dedicated to his craft, Chef Willie’s passion for food shines through in every dish. Hailing from Germany, he arrived in Algarve in 1985 and has since maintained an enviable position as one of the region’s outstanding chefs.
He was such a pleasure to talk to and with every bite, I am once again reminded why they are such a well-loved restaurant.
