When a hotel is just a few steps away from Malaysia’s Petronas Towers, it already speaks a great deal about how strategic its location is. However, with Four Seasons, we didn’t just experience easy access to the best Kuala Lumpur has to offer. We also got a taste of modern Malaysia packaged in a 65-storey mixed-use skyscraper.
The Ambience and Location
Four Seasons Hotel’s location is one of its biggest advantages. This high-rise luxury hotel is situated right in the bustling Kuala Lumpur City Center. Along with the sleek and contemporary design you can delight in upon entering the hotel, they also give you a striking view of KLCC Park and the surrounding modern buildings.
You’ll also find upscale restaurants, coffee shops, and shopping malls nearby, making Four Seasons Hotel a destination in itself.
The Rooms
Each room boasts its own view of a part of Kuala Lumpur. The floor-length windows makes sure that a lot of light is let into the room, even highlighting how spacious our accommodations are. An elegant contemporary design welcomes you with light colors in both the bedroom and bathrooms creating a scene of serenity and luxury. The highest category suites have a slightly darker design with most noticeable the bathrooms being covered in black marble. One of the best features you will find in the room is the Japanese toilet fully equipped with a touchpad and lights inside the toilet.
This being a brand new hotel, you would expect it to cater to the travelers of today. To our surprise the sockets in the room only had the Malaysian/UK type G socket. Europeans and Americans will need a converter. Something that could have been prevented by installing universal sockets. Something that most renovated and new luxury hotels do by default.
The Food
Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur gives you five dining options. There’s the Yun House if you’re craving Chinese cuisine and the Pool Bar & Grill if you prefer Middle Eastern mezze.
If you can’t choose just one, dining at their all-day restaurant Curate is a great idea as the chefs also give you a show of how they artfully prepare your dish.
The lounge will host you for a lovely afternoon tea and right behind it lies Trigona bar. It has only been open for a year but has already made it in the top 50 best Bars in Asia.
Activities
When it comes to the activities offered by Four Seasons Hotel, we’ll have to point out that they didn’t have a lot of options as compared to other luxury hotels. However, they do take pride in their spa and relaxation treatments. You can even request a private yoga or pampering session. A gym and pool is also available for your leisure. The Spa is better than most luxury city hotels. The grand entrance is unlike anything else you will find in similar hotels. The pricing of the treatments is also something we found to be lower than most other Four Season hotels and more competitive to the local alternatives.
What piqued our interest is the Executive Club Lounge. As someone who runs a business remotely, we’re always looking for a place conducive to working and we liked how we had access to high-speed internet, all-day refreshments or even a cocktail or two at the end of the day. They also have conference rooms if you need to meet with someone and we loved that we can also get a great view of KLCC while working.
Perfect For…
Business travelers. We can personally see the potential of Malaysia’s businesses and we can imagine Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur as the perfect venue to network or hold events. Kuala Lumpur is a city that evolves and grows. Four Seasons has raised the bar of luxury hospitality in the city and has created a new spot for the sophisticated traveler to stay at, meet and socialize.
