While everyone’s travel plans are currently on hold for now, a survey conducted by Preferred Hotels & Resorts shows that the desire to travel is still strong.
Their global future travel survey (conducted among their brand loyalty program) revealed that 50% of respondents are still planning to book a trip before 2020 ends. 17% of respondents also stated that they’re booking for trips this year right now.
81% said that they’re looking forward to traveling by plane. 75% are looking forward to reuniting and going on a getaway with family.
Destination also varies. 51% of respondents state that they plan to book a hotel in the city. On the other hand, 30% are looking forward to a beach paradise. Over 50% of Americans plan to travel domestically while 22% hope to travel to other continents.
While these statistics aren’t intended to urge people to travel right away, it shows that there’s a positive attitude directed towards travel. It hints at the tourism industry’s ability to pick themselves back up again once the Coronavirus pandemic tides over.
