Jérôme Nutile, a chef that got his first star in 2006 and his second in 2009 started a new adventure in 2015. Starting from almost rock bottom with an idea that came from his gastronomic heart.
Jérôme Nutile wanted to create a place that offers food, gastronomic dishes and luxurious rooms that feel like a home. He was prepared to invest time and money to realize his dream. A place perfect for the realization of this gastronomic home was found in the heart of George Besse Park in Nîmes. After 8 months of renovation and 2 million euro, the first part opened. Le Bistr’AU in December 2014 and both the hotel and the gastronomic restaurant Jérôme Nutile in March 2015. Read more about the hotel here.
After only being open for several months, Jérôme quickly received a star from Michelin and we are certain he will soon get his second. The dishes are very well thought out, the menu is carefully balanced and his creativity and personal style are the icing on the cake.
We loved all the dishes and will certainly visit again, but there are dishes we want to highlight. First of all the desserts. Above all they were our favorite. Stephanie is a dessert person and could eat an eighth course dessert meal without any problem. The second highlight of the evening was the cheese.
Most Gastronomic restaurants offer a cheese trolley. Something that has been replaced too often (unfortunately) by pre-selected cheeses. This because of the cost and the difficulty of keeping the cheese fresh. To increase the experience of the guests Jérôme carefully designed a cheese cellar that has been placed as a centerpiece in the restaurant. Here more than 50 cheeses await your arrival. The cheese cellar is so unique and cheese lovers like us will adore it. You are personally invited to choose your cheese. It enhances the ‘at home’ experience and makes dining here also a fun experience.
The full potential of Jérôme Nutile’s gastronomic house have not yet been discovered. It is a promising fresh concept and we look forward to new tasty ideas that will unfold here.

Not only is Jerome Nutile’s chef surprise menu very, very good, it also allows you to drink all the recommended wines that come with the dishes and enjoy a gastronomic breakfast in the morning. October 1, 2016, 9:09 pmDie gerechten zien er wel uit om van te watertanden! Dat is wel het fijne van een Michelin ster restaurant, de gerechten zijn niet alleen heel lekker, maar zien er ook oogstrelend uit.
