Aruba’s Only Dutch Colonial-style hotel – Hotel Amsterdam Manor

Hotel Amsterdam Manor looks out over Aruba’s famous Eagle Beach, known for its soft white sand, clear turquoise water, and divi-divi trees. The hotel is separated by a street from the most perfect beach we have ever seen. Aruba has a lot of different beaches but Eagle Beach is one of our favorites. Every year from March to June, sea turtles (Leatherback Turtles) nest on Eagle Beach. During these months, sections of the beach are closed off in order to protect the nested turtles. If you are lucky you can see them hatch during these months.

Hotel Amsterdam Manor has the Dutch colonial architecture. The famous Dutch architect Jan Hubert designed the beautiful Dutch architecture of the resort. It all started in 1989 with only 49 rooms. But as tourism grew in Aruba so did hotel Amsterdam Manor. The hotel now has 72 rooms and two restaurants. Their famous restaurant Passions on the Beach is definitely one to try on Aruba. Enjoy a cocktail or a nice meal during the sunset on the beach. No need to wear fancy shoes since you can go in flip flops.

The hotel is run by a Dutch family and for us, that felt like coming home. Since Peter is from The Netherlands we love the familiar feeling to this resort. The Van Schaijk family managed the hotels since it was built in December 1989. Management of this unique Dutch resort has passed down from father to son.

The resort is very centrally located in Aruba: a 5-minute drive from the capital Oranjestad and a 15-minute drive from Aruba’s international airport Reina Beatrix. The Palm Beach area is a few minutes away, offering various dining opportunities, shops and casinos. A bus stop right in front makes it really easy to get around. But we suggest you rent a car during your stay. There is enough parking space in front of the hotel. Additionally, one of the biggest supermarkets of the island is less than 10 minutes walking. All the rooms have a small kitchen so having the supermarket close is super handy.

We stayed in a 2-bedroom suite. This room is perfect for families, couples or friends who can share the large living room and kitchen. Every room has its own bathroom. This type of rooms are located on the second floor and have their own private balcony with view on the beach and pool.

Hotel Amsterdam Manor hosts special guest activities during your stay. Such as the weekly Managers’ Cocktail Party or theme nights with live entertainment. We had a very pleasant week with the lovely staff. This location is one of the best of the island. Book your room directly through this link to get the best rates.

Dat ziet er echt een super mooi hotel uit! Hoe leuk ook dat het een familiebedrijf blijft!
